This study investigates the effect of supply chain management (SCM) practices in achieving sustainability and organizational excellence in the Public pharmaceutical manufacturing companies located in Greater Cairo. To achieve that objective, data were collected using a Google Form questionnaire distributed among managers at different organizational levels within public pharmaceutical companies in Greater Cairo.
A total of 386 questionnaires were sent, and 100 responses were received, resulting in a response rate of  26%. The research was guided by two main hypotheses and employed quantitative methods, including frequency analysis, mean value analysis, the T-Test to analyze the data. These methods ensured the accuracy and reliability of the findings and assessed whether significant differences existed among employees regarding the effect of  of SCM practices in enhancing sustainability and organizational excellence.
Findings highlighted that SCM practices in these companies are not merely about cost reduction. Instead, they serve as a strategic tool to enhance sustainability and organizational excellence, enabling firms to meet both national and international market demands while improving overall performance.
A key managerial implication of this research is that policy makers in the Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturing sector should recognize that the purpose and nature of SCM practices vary when aiming to achieve sustainable organizational  excellence. This study also opens pathways for future research.
